Seven mushroom species in one powder
The 7 Mushrooms Mix combines seven functional mushrooms in a single powder: reishi, chaga, shiitake, maitake, lion’s mane, cordyceps and tremella. The pouch label carries the name Maya, the words "7 Mushrooms Blend" and "Powdered", and a seal reading "Made in China". The supplier, Maya World Trading BV in Haarlem, lists the same seven species with their Latin names and gives China as the country of origin. Mycotrop stocks the blend in three sizes: 50 g, 250 g and 1 kg.

Composition and current knowledge
Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) contains β-glucan-type polysaccharides and triterpenes, including ganoderic acids. Chaga (Inonotus obliquus) holds lanostane-type triterpenoids such as inotodiol. Shiitake (Lentinula edodes) is the second most cultivated edible mushroom in the world; it contains the polysaccharide lentinan. Maitake (Grifola frondosa) is studied for its “D-fraction”, rich in polysaccharides. Lion’s mane (Hericium erinaceus) holds erinacines and hericenones. Cordyceps (Cordyceps militaris) contains cordycepin. Tremella (Tremella fuciformis), called yiner or baimuer in China, is edible; its polysaccharides are its main studied component.
The proportions of the seven species are not given: no data concern the blend itself.
| Known compounds | Polysaccharides (β-glucans) and triterpenoids depending on the species; cordycepin (cordyceps); erinacines and hericenones (lion’s mane). |
|---|---|
| Where the use comes from | Several of these species have a long history of use in East Asian traditional medicine, notably Chinese (reviews from 2019 to 2026). |
| State of research | Mostly laboratory and animal studies, a few clinical trials with very different preparations. No health claim is authorised for these mushrooms in the EU. |
The seven species
The supplier names each mushroom by its Latin name. The table below gives the name accepted in the GBIF taxonomic backbone and the family of each species.
Neither the label nor the supplier states the share of each species in the blend.
| Common name | Accepted name · Family |
|---|---|
| Reishi | Ganoderma lucidum · Polyporaceae |
| Chaga | Inonotus obliquus · Hymenochaetaceae |
| Shiitake | Lentinula edodes (listed by the supplier as Lentinus edodes, a synonym) · Omphalotaceae |
| Maitake | Grifola frondosa · Grifolaceae |
| Lion’s mane | Hericium erinaceus · Hericiaceae |
| Cordyceps | Cordyceps militaris · Cordycipitaceae |
| Tremella | Tremella fuciformis · Tremellaceae |
Sizes and single-species powders
The three pack sizes hold the same blend; only the weight changes. If you are looking for one species on its own, the shop also lists chaga powder from Finland and reishi powder from China, each in 100 g. Liquid extracts and other mushroom products are grouped under Extracts.
Storing your botanicals
Keep dried plants in their tightly closed pouch or in an airtight jar, away from light, moisture and heat. Powders absorb moisture easily, so close them again straight away. For extracts, tinctures and capsules, follow the instructions on the label and the printed date.
Before using a plant
- Keep plants out of the reach of children and pets.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or taking any medication, ask a doctor or pharmacist first: many plants interact with medicines.
- Stop immediately if you have an allergic reaction or feel unwell.
- The information on this page describes the product; it does not replace medical advice.
