Calliandra angustifolia is an accepted species of the Fabaceae. The name was published by Bentham in 1875, based on a name by Richard Spruce; Calliandra subnervosa is one of its synonyms. The World Checklist of Vascular Plants gives its native range as Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and northern Brazil. Spanish vernacular names recorded in GBIF include bobinsana, chipero, sisiño and yutsu.
