Siberian Ginseng Extract (Eleutherococcus senticosus) – 10 ml
Eleutherococcus senticosus root extract in a 10 ml bottle
Siberian ginseng and eleuthero are two English names for Eleutherococcus senticosus, and this product is a liquid extract of it in a 10 ml dark glass bottle with a black dropper cap. The purple label carries the name Maya, the words Siberian Ginseng and Extract, and two ingredients: Eleutherococcus senticosus and alcohol 20%. The supplier, Maya World Trading BV in Haarlem, lists the product form as a tincture and the root as the plant part. Mycotrop sells it in one size, 10 ml.

Eleutherococcus senticosus in the botanical record
GBIF accepts Eleutherococcus senticosus (Rupr. & Maxim.) Maxim. and places it in the family Araliaceae. The species was first described as Hedera senticosa; another synonym is Acanthopanax senticosus. The World Checklist of Vascular Plants gives its native range as the Russian Far East (Amur, Khabarovsk, Primorye, Sakhalin), north-central and south-central China, Inner Mongolia, Manchuria, Korea and Japan. Besides Siberian ginseng and eleuthero, GBIF records the German names Taigawurzel and Stachelpanax.
Siberian ginseng and Korean ginseng
The two share a common name but not a genus: Siberian ginseng belongs to Eleutherococcus, Korean ginseng to Panax, and GBIF places both genera in the Araliaceae. If you are looking for Panax ginseng, the shop also lists a Korean ginseng 1:5 root tincture, whose name states a ratio; the Maya Siberian ginseng label gives none. Every liquid extract in the shop is listed under Extracts.
