About the wood
The supplier describes the material as hardwoods whose natural colours range from deep burgundy to warm yellow, brought out by a finishing process that leaves the surface smooth. It does not name the species. The piece in the photo is a warm mid-brown with a fine, reddish grain. As each kuripe is made by hand from natural wood, colour and grain can differ from one piece to the next.
