A V-shaped kuripe in contrasting hardwoods
The Mixed Hardwood Kuripe is one of the wooden kuripes in the rapé accessories at Mycotrop. According to the supplier, each piece is made by hand by Rafael, a craftsman, from hardwoods of the Amazon rainforest, and the colours of the wood vary from piece to piece. The supplier does not name the wood species, so we do not name any. There is one version, without a size or colour choice.

Form and colours
In the product photo, the kuripe is a flat V. Two arms meet at a curved notch, one of them ending in a short rounded tube, and from there the body narrows to a sharp point. Most of the surface is a smooth reddish-brown wood with fine dark pores. A broad black band, framed by two thin pale lines, runs from the notch along the body and forms the tip. Because the woods are combined differently in each piece, the supplier describes every kuripe as one of a kind, so yours may show other tones than the photo.
Other wooden kuripes
Rafael also makes the Hardwood Circular Kuripe, a single curved body in warm brown. If you prefer bamboo, the plain bamboo kuripe has bare tubes in a V. Both are listed with the other models in rapé accessories.

Who made this kuripe?
Rafael, a craftsman, according to the supplier. No workshop or place is given.
Will mine look exactly like the photo?
Not necessarily. The supplier notes that the wood colours vary and that each piece is handmade, so tones and grain differ from one kuripe to the next.
