Roxinho and the kenê joint
Peltogyne angustiflora is an accepted species of the legume family, Fabaceae, and roxinho is one of its Portuguese common names. In the product photo, the long tube has the deep purple tone, while the second tube is a light brown wood with a visible grain. Where they meet, the round face of the joint shows a geometric meander of light stepped bands on a dark ground, which the supplier calls a kenê pattern. As each piece is made by hand, small differences in grain, colour and inlay are to be expected.
