About Pinus sylvestris
GBIF and the World Checklist of Vascular Plants (WCVP) accept Pinus sylvestris L. as a species of the Pinaceae, the pine family. In English it is known as Scots pine, in French as pin sylvestre and in German as Waldkiefer. WCVP lists Portugal among the places where the species has been introduced. The pack label states Portugal as the country of manufacture for this rosin.
Other conifer resins in the range
Two other resins in our range also come from conifers: balsam fir resin, labelled Abies balsamea and also a member of the Pinaceae, and sandarac from Morocco, labelled Tetraclinis articulata from the cypress family (Cupressaceae).
