Ganoderma lucidum: names and classification
Ganoderma lucidum (Curtis) P.Karst. is the accepted name in the GBIF taxonomic backbone, which places the species in the family Polyporaceae, order Polyporales. The author citation points back to Curtis, whose name Boletus lucidus is listed among the synonyms together with Polyporus lucidus and Fomes lucidus. In English the species is also called lacquered bracket, in French ganoderme luisant and in German Glänzender Lackporling. The trade name reishi matches the Japanese name レイシ recorded in GBIF; the Chinese name is 灵芝 (lingzhi).
