Which water lily is Nymphaea lotus?
Nymphaea lotus L. was named by Linnaeus in 1753 and is accepted by Kew’s World Checklist of Vascular Plants as a species of the Nymphaeaceae. It is the white-flowered water lily known in English as white Egyptian lotus or Egyptian white water-lily; tiger lotus is another recorded name.
