Traditional use
Nymphaea alba, the white water lily, is an aquatic plant of the water-lily family (Nymphaeaceae), also called the European white water lily. According to a 2018 study, it has been used for hundreds of years in traditional herbal medicine.
Published research on the species is mostly phytochemical: a 2018 study of wild plants from the Danube Delta identified 27 compounds, with rutin and p-coumaric acid as the main ones. Other published work consists of laboratory and animal studies on extracts; no clinical trial was found.

Sri Lanka or Thailand?
The supplier gives Sri Lanka as the country; the pouch carries Made in Thailand, which names the country where the product was made. A European water lily
Linnaeus described Nymphaea alba in 1753 in Species Plantarum. The WCVP of the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, accepts it as a species of the Nymphaeaceae. Its native range runs from Europe and North Africa (Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia) to Turkey, the Near East, Iran and the western Himalaya; it is listed as introduced in, among other places, India, Bangladesh, Myanmar, China, New Zealand and Chile. The identification of these flowers rests on the name printed on the label.
