The maca plant

Maca is the common name of Lepidium meyenii Walp., a species of the Brassicaceae, the family of cabbage and mustard. Wilhelm Gerhard Walpers published the name in 1843. The Kew checklist (WCVP) records the species as native to Peru, Bolivia, northern Chile and north-western Argentina, and lists several synonyms, among them Lepidium peruvianum G.Chacón. In this jar, the plant part named on the label is the root.

Jar and label

The three photos show the jar from the front, the side and the back. The front carries the Phytolumiar logo, a flower-of-life motif, and the capsule count. The back holds the ingredient panel, a barcode and the line “Store in a dry, cool place”. Further wording on the label is not repeated here. If you prefer loose plant material, the shop also lists maca powdered root from Peru in a 100 g pouch.

Packaging and delivery

We prepare orders on business days and ship them in neutral outer packaging that does not describe the contents. When tracking is available, you receive the link by email after dispatch.
