Three bamboo tubes in a modelled resin body
The Double Barrel is one of the decorated bamboo kuripes in the rapé accessories at Mycotrop. The supplier describes it as handcrafted from bamboo and resin by artisans of the Tete Pawã studio, in the upper Juruá region of the municipality of Marechal Thaumaturgo, in the Brazilian state of Acre. In the product photos, three bamboo tubes leave a body modelled with leaves, spirals and round buds: two run side by side, while the third branches off at an angle. Handwork and the caapi slice
The supplier mentions delicate handwork and a carefully placed slice of caapi vine, Banisteriopsis caapi, a plant of the Malpighiaceae family. In the photos, the slice shows a brown cross-section framed by a raised rim, among grey-green leaves and curled spirals. As every piece is made by hand, the supplier notes slight variations from one Double Barrel to the next, so yours may differ a little in colour and detail.
