Banisteriopsis caapi belongs to the Malpighiaceae; its native range covers Ecuador, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, Bolivia, northern and west-central Brazil, and north-western Argentina. Psychotria viridis, a member of the Rubiaceae, is native from Chiapas in Mexico to tropical America, including Central America, Cuba, Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The label gives no proportions and does not name the Amazonian herbs.
