Cordyceps extract capsules from Foodsporen
This Foodsporen jar contains 60 capsules filled with a cordyceps extract. The label gives an extract ratio of 8:1, names the fruiting bodies as the source material and states that the extract is triple-extracted. Mycotrop offers the jar in a single size within its functional mushroom range. Its label details match those of the Foodsporen cordyceps extract in a 30 ml dropper bottle, so the same maker covers both a capsule and a liquid format.

The genus Cordyceps
In the GBIF backbone, Cordyceps Fr. is a genus of sac fungi (Ascomycota) in the family Cordycipitaceae and the order Hypocreales. Because the label of this jar names the genus only, no species is stated on this page.
The jar and its label
The product photo shows a black jar with a wide lid. A band of orange cordyceps illustrations runs above a light green panel with a printed slogan and a dark green panel. The lower panel carries the name Cordyceps, four lines in Dutch about the extract and the count of 60 capsules. For a liquid format, see the Foodsporen cordyceps extract in a 30 ml dropper bottle. Foodsporen also sells lion’s mane capsules as a jar of 60.
Functional mushrooms: what we know
Reishi, lion’s mane, chaga, cordyceps and maitake have a long history in Asia and Eastern Europe, both in cooking and in traditional medicine. Modern research consists mainly of laboratory and animal studies: no health claims are authorised in the European Union for these mushrooms, and we do not make any.
Precautions
- Ask a doctor or pharmacist for advice if you take any medication, especially an anticoagulant or a diabetes medicine, and during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
- Chaga is rich in oxalates: kidney damage has been reported after heavy, prolonged consumption.
- Stick to the daily dose stated on the label, and keep out of the reach of children.
- A food supplement is not a substitute for a varied diet.
Storage
Keep the product tightly closed, dry and away from light; for liquid extracts and tinctures, follow the instructions on the label.
