The parica tree
Schizolobium parahyba (Vell.) S.F.Blake is an accepted species of the legume family, Fabaceae, in the GBIF backbone and in the World Checklist of Vascular Plants (WCVP). GBIF lists parica and guapuruvu among its Brazilian common names, and Brazilian fern tree and Brazilian firetree in English. WCVP gives a native range from southern Mexico through Central America to Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Bolivia and Brazil, and lists Schizolobium amazonicum as a synonym.
Ash, not a blend
Parica is also part of several rapé blend names, such as the Caboclo Paricá rapé. Those blends are separate products, and a blend name is not an ingredient list, so nothing is said here about their composition. This jar contains the ash alone; the supplier declares no tobacco or other plant material. The other single ashes are grouped in the Ashes category.
Burning safely
