The Mycotek MIB kit is a 1200 ml Panaeolus cyanescens grow kit with a modern cultivar nicknamed “Men In Black”, delivered fully colonized with its casing layer.
MIB is one of the newest lines in the Pan Cyan family. It is valued for its vigorous colonization and for fruits that often drop red spores. It likes warmth: a degree or two more than the Hawaiian strain.
No published study measures the potency of MIB itself. Sellers of this line quote a grower HPLC test of about 2.8% psilocybin and 3.15% total alkaloids, a figure that could not be independently verified. It is consistent with what is known about the species, some samples of which reached about 3% total psilocin in a 2010 forensic analysis.
Above all, remember that MIB belongs to a species that is highly concentrated gram for gram: always start with the smallest amount in the dosage table.
Vendors present MIB as a three-way cross of BVI (British Virgin Islands), PHV and Nec’D, created within the Magic Myco grower community. The cross has not been confirmed genetically, but the culture does show BVI and PHV traits: aggressive colonization and strong successive flushes.
Red spores are a natural mutation known from the PHV side of the family; once it appears, it can stabilize within a few generations. The trait is common in MIB but not guaranteed on every fruit: some caps still drop dark spores.

Panaeolus cyanescens contains psilocybin and a large share of psilocin. In 2010, a German forensic analysis found up to about 3% total psilocin in dried samples: among the highest values ever published for a mushroom (Laussmann and Meier-Giebing). Levels nevertheless vary widely with origin, growing conditions and drying.
The effects resemble those of other psilocybin mushrooms: heightened perception, colors and shapes that move, shifting emotions and introspection, often with nausea at the start. In the self-experiment published by chemist Tjakko Stijve in 1992, the effects came on in under 20 minutes and the experience was judged stronger and shorter than with Psilocybe semilanceata.

No public-health body gives a range specific to Panaeolus cyanescens. The figures below are rough orders of magnitude drawn from user reports, to be treated as an upper limit: 1 g dried is generally taken as equivalent to about 2 g of dried cubensis. For fresh mushrooms, multiply by roughly ten.

Potency varies considerably from one batch to the next, and the onset is fast: it is easy to take too much before you feel the first effects. Start with the smallest amount and wait at least an hour and a half before considering more.
If you are used to cubensis, do not take your usual amounts: cut them at least in half.
