Traditional use
Florida Water (agua florida) is an eau de Cologne of New York origin: the firm of the druggist Robert Murray, founded in 1808, sold it under the Murray & Lanman brand, and it is still produced. The formula varies between brands; the one in the range sold here cites lavender, rose, jasmine and orange blossom.
It has entered ritual practices in Latin America and the Caribbean: an anthropologist describes it as a tool of purification and protection in mestizo shamanism in South America, Central America and the Caribbean (Dupuis 2022). In Ecuador, Saraguro healers use it to “remove negative energy” (Armijos et al. 2014); in Shipibo ceremonies in Peru, it is used to help the person “blossom” (Gonzalez et al. 2021).

Bottles and label
The photos show the 50 ml and 100 ml sizes as clear bottles with a white spray head, and the 500 ml size as a larger clear bottle with a white cap. The teal and orange label carries the Maya Incense logo and the words "Agua Floresta", "Florida Water" and "Natural Floral Water", with the volume printed underneath. In the pictures the liquid is colourless.

Most other waters of the range are named after a plant, such as Patchouli and Palo Santo, while Ceremony is a line name. Florida Water is the one for which the supplier names several floral essences rather than a single plant.
