Sceletium tortuosum dry extract with a 50:1 label ratio
This dry kanna extract is a light-brown powder sold under the Maya Herbs label. Each jar label reads Maya Herbs, Kanna, Sceletium tortuosum and “Dry Extract 50:1”, followed by the net weight. The plant behind the name
The jar labels use the name Sceletium tortuosum (L.) N.E.Br. In the World Checklist of Vascular Plants this name is a synonym; the accepted name is Mesembryanthemum tortuosum L., first published by Linnaeus in 1753. The species belongs to the Aizoaceae, and WCVP records its native range as the Cape Provinces of South Africa.
