Setup Phase: Getting Your Mycobag Ready

Straighten and Inflate
DO not open the bag! Stand the bag upright to naturally fill it with air, creating the perfect environment for growth. Lightly tap the sides to promote even airflow inside the bag.

Choose the Perfect Spot
Place the bag in an area with indirect light, such as under a shelf or in a dim corner. Avoid direct sunlight to maintain the optimal growing conditions.

Keep the Temperature Just Right
Monitor the environment with a thermometer to ensure a consistent temperature between 24°C and 25°C (75–77°F). If needed, place the bag near a heat source, ensuring it doesn’t come into direct contact.

Let It Work
Leave the bag undisturbed and allow the natural growth process to take its course. Avoid moving or opening the bag during this critical phase.

After the First Flush: Reap and Refresh

Harvest the Entire Crop
Using clean scissors, carefully open the bag and harvest all the mushrooms, including any small ones that won’t continue growing.

Rehydrate the Substrate
Fully submerge the cake in water for an hour to replenish its moisture.

Remove Excess Water
Drain the bag thoroughly to eliminate any standing water, which could hinder further growth.

Prepare for Another Round
Fold the top of the bag securely, leaving a small gap for airflow, and set it up again for the next flush.

Repeat for More Harvests
This process can be repeated up to 3–4 times, yielding multiple harvests from the same bag.

Tips for Optimal Results

• Check for any signs of mold or contamination and discard the bag if necessary.
• If the air feels dry, lightly mist the area near the bag to maintain humidity levels.
